Philip Harwood, an old and respected citizen of this community, died last Saturday night at the advanced age of 82 years. He was born in the eastern part of this state and coming to this part of the country, he married Polly McKinsey, settling on a farm two miles south of here, where he has lived nearly 60 years, raising a family of nine children, five of whom are living. He was a quiet, inoffensive man, kind to his family and respectful to his friends. His wife died many years ago and he has lived alone with a daughter patiently waiting for the close of his life. He passed away peacefully and now lies at rest from the trials of earth. The interment took place at the Alamo Cemetery Monday at 2 o’clock. -s
